Our High School Open House on 7 February 2026 was a resounding success, made even more special by the presence of five dedicated alumni volunteers! Their energy and authentic stories helped bring the spirit of our community to life for over 700 visiting parents and students.
It was a vibrant morning across the campus, buzzing with conversation and curiosity. Throughout the event, families experienced taster lessons and met with our leadership team and teachers. However, it was the genuine perspectives and "heart" of our graduates that truly resonated with prospective families, providing an invaluable look at the long-term impact of an SJI International education.
In Alumni’s Own Words: Why They Volunteered
We caught up with some of our volunteers to find out what inspired them to spend their Saturday back at their alma mater.
Rohan Nair, Class of 2025, reflected on the fulfillment of guiding the next generation:
"It felt great to represent a place that is like a second home to me. I was more than happy to detail my experiences as a student and answer questions parents may have had. There were many who had the same doubts, worries and questions that I had before I had joined the school, thus it was fulfilling to assure how impactful SJI International was during my 10 years here.
Coming from elementary school, I still remember being uncertain of the next chapter in my life, going to school with many that I have never met before. It turned out to be a life changing experience, apart from my academic development, I was able to join a community that uplifts one another. I wanted to share this experience with those at the Open House, so they can truly understand what being a Lasallian means."
Charmaine Yeo, Class of 2025, shared her desire to give back:
"My greatest motivating factor for wanting to volunteer at the Open House was my desire to give back to the community that has given so much to me. Despite only graduating last year as part of the Class of 2025, the past few months post-graduation have given me some time to reflect upon the lessons learnt within SJI International, and the memories made. SJI International gave me so much in terms of values cultivated and invaluable experiences, and I wanted to open the eyes of those in the wider community to the amazing opportunities made available within our Lasallian community.
I most definitely hold a great deal of love for the school and was happy to have been given the chance to spread my sentiment for SJII through the student sharing to parents.
I hope that I was able to successfully convey the heart and warmth of SJII through my words, and look forward to seeing some of the prospective students at the Open House serving at the forefront of SJII's mission one day."
It was a pleasure to welcome our alumni home, where they served as wonderful ambassadors for our community, and we thank them for sharing their time and stories so generously. We look forward to many more of these vibrant gatherings!
