Reunions & Events |
It was an evening that celebrated old and new friendships. The 2018 Alumni Reunion proved to be especially nostalgic to some, as it was held at the school’s poolside just like the very first Alumni Reunion. On the evening of 28 July, close to a hundred former students and their ex-teachers gathered by the poolside for a BBQ party while catching up with each other and reminisced over the good old times.
Yet, Summer Reunion 2018 was somewhat different from previous years. For starters, there was no formal address or speeches. Instead, all who came heartily dug into the amazing spread of meats and salads while catching up with old friends and making new ones. Hearty laughter and constant banter filled the air throughout the night as the alumni shared about their adventures after leaving school.
It was an evening filled with nostalgia for the past and promises for a more cohesive future. Across the various batches from 2009 all the way to 2017, there were conversations on how to get more involved with giving back to the school, to their juniors who were still in school. Seeing the past, present and future come together at the Alumni Reunion every year proves to be a constant reminder of why we keep doing this, that friendships forged at SJI International can truly withstand the test of time.
